Priority over other civil orders
12(1)An emergency intervention order prevails over an existing order under the Family Law Act and the Divorce Act (Canada) to the extent necessary to provide for the immediate safety of the applicant and any child.
12(2)An emergency intervention order is subject to and is varied by an order that is made under the Family Services Act, the Child and Youth Well-Being Act, the Family Law Act or the Divorce Act (Canada) after the emergency intervention order is made.

Priority over other civil orders
